Centre for autism in Osijek opened on 1 March 2019. The establishment of the centre took three years, from the first memorandums between several ministries and local government, to the opening of the newly-built capacities.
The centre offers preschool education, elementary school education, and social services programs. It is equipped with the latest assistive technology devices in its sensory park, snoezelen rooms, sensory integration cabinet, pool, jacuzzi, and soft room. In this lecture we will give an overview of the work in our centre and the use of this assistive technology. We will also give a demonstration of the use of various communicators and other equipment for augmentative and alternative communication in the Osijek Centre for autism.
