Boston Children's Hospital
John Costello is a Speech-Language Pathologist at Boston Children’s Hospital where he has specialized in augmentative communication for 33 years. In addition to providing outpatient pediatric augmentative communication assessment and intervention services, John founded the first of its kind pediatric intensive care/acute care unit augmentative communication program as well as a dedicated AAC program for people with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. All of these programs are at Boston Children’s Hospital.
John has authored or co-authored articles and chapters related to AAC assessment and AAC in the hospital setting, teaches several AAC graduate courses at Boston University and has lectured nationally and internationally on many topics in AAC.
