MY SESSIONS
Teaching Correct Articulation by Gamification
About session
Kokolingo is a new web application for speech sound therapy which was created for Croatian, Polish, and English languages. Kokolingo was created by a multidisciplinary team of SLPs from Croatia, Poland, and USA, and computer scientists, to provide an advanced tool for speech sound therapy. Kokolingo uses virtual tutors and some gamification principles to provide the maximum level of engagement of children during the speech sound therapy. Kokolingo was developed to be used both by SLPs during therapy with children but also for home use and engagement beyond the therapy session. Articulation activities for each target sound are packed with a wide range of multimedia materials.
The aim of the presentation is to show how the results of speech sound therapy can be further improved if a child is more motivated by using some elements of gamification within a multimedia application.
